Sassari day 2

On a beautiful morning we started to explore the streets of Old Sassari. The streets were quite busy with locals doing their weekend shopping.

We took a detour into the public gardens, where the shade of the trees meant for a pleasant stroll.

We then came across a farmer's market where the fruit and veg looked so fresh. We stopped of for a coffee before continuing our walk.

We had a sandwich and a beer at Piazza Italia before heading over to Sassari cathedral, with its impressive facade. 

In the evening we returned to to Piazza Italia to watch some of the Sardinian performers on stage along with a huge crowd, many dressed in traditional costume.

On the way home we stopped off at a local bar "Anthinos" where local musicians  performed an eclectic mix of tunes.
