Final Day in Wales

On our last day of our visit to Wales we made our final trip over to see Lee and the kids. Once again the weather was kind to us as the superb Spring  sunshine continued.

We then drove over to Tredegar house for a stroll around the lake and park. This park really is a  haven of tranquility set between two Cities in South Wales.

We then made our way over to a local supermarket  to stock up on Welsh lamb to take back to Cyprus  with us.

All to soon it was time to pack our bags after a wonderful time Wales.

14 Locks canal and The Cool kids

On yet another Glorious Spring day we made our way over to The Fourteen locks canal in Rogerstone, in South Wales. We walked along the old toe path  that runs along the derelict locks.

In the afternoon we spent another lovely day with the Cool kids enjoying the Spring  sunshine  in their garden. It was surprisingly warm for this time of year in the UK, but we are not complaining,  we have  been  very lucky with the weather on this visit.

In the evening we popped into Llandaff area of Cardiff to see Lisa and Andrew  to discuss their Wedding plans and to receive our formal invitation.

We then all met at Sarah and Lee's house for a family Sunday lunch. Lisa presented Rob presented Rob with a "This is your life" photo album.

After dinner we went into the garden for a kick about as ever, the kids, Cari and Jude stole the show with their antics.

A visit to Barry Island

On a brisk morning we made our way over to the seaside resort of Barry Island which lies just outside Cardiff. Our first stop was Marco's cafe for a warming  cup of coffee.

We were soon joined by Lisa who updated us on her forthcoming wedding plans. We were then joined by Sarah,  Lee, Jude and Cari  who wanted  some Chips/French fries for lunch.

It was then time to hit the beach even though it was quite chilly,  Cari and Jude were armed with newly bought buckets and spades and soon started building sandcastles.
Our final stop was a ice cream parlour for ice cones and  mugs of hot chocolate. It was all to soon to say goodbye for the day.

In the evening we drove out to the Cefn Mably Arms for a couple of drinks and an evening meal.

A visit to Cardiff

We hopped onto the early train that took us into Rob's home City of Cardiff. We started of with a coffee before hitting the shops.

At lunchtime  Rob had had enough of shopping so he retired to "The Old Arcade" for a well earned pint, while Mandy continued shopping.

In the evening we took on our babysitting duties  looking after Jude and Cari while mum and dad had a well deserved night out.

A visit to the UK

We drove to Larnaca  airport to take the four and a half hour flight to  Bristol.  The Easyjet flight was comfortable and relaxing.  We spent our first night in a  airport hotel.

The following morning we picked up our hire car and made our way over  to South Wales and for the first time we did not have to pay the tolls on the Seven bridge.

After a quick visit to the local Hypermarket we made our way over to see Sarah, Cari and Jude. We spent a lovely afternoon with them, catching up with all the news and playing with the kids.

Grand Slam Wales

We have to give a quick mention to the efforts of the Welsh Rugby team who won the Six Nations Grand slam (winning every game) by defeating Ireland at the Millennium stadium in Cardiff.

Our family gathered in a local club to enjoy the game and the resulting celebrations.

The excitement even made its way over to Cyprus as Rob, nervously, enjoyed the game.

A break down, Green Monday and a Holiday Video

Well, not the best start to the week when the engine on the Honda HRV blew up on the Motorway heading towards Paphos, a 3 hour wait for a tow truck meant a long time at the side of the road.....just watching cars fly by.

The begining of Lent in Cyprus starts with "Green Monday".  A large part of the village turned out to celebrate, bringing food and drink to share. The village council provided free wine, bread and live music.

We finally finished our video of our recent trip to South Africa.
