A Trip to Pomos

On the final day of our short break, we decided to drive up the coast to Pomos, this is such a scenic drive as the road hugs the coast. We arrived at the small but picutresque harbour in Pomos and wandered around the small fishing boats.

We then had a frappe at the Kanali restaurant and the barman told us he was trying out an new cocktail and asked Mandy to try it out and give her opinion on his new concoction.....she gave her seal of approval.

We then headed over to Santa Barbara restaurant that lies right on the coast in the village of Agaka. We enjoyed a splendid lunch with beautiful views across Chrysochou bay.

In the evening we headed over to the central square in the town of Polis, we watched the Euro 2020 match between Wales and Denmark, sadly Wales lost and this ended their part in the competition. We did meet up with a couple from South Africa and enjoyed a pleasant hour in their company.

Sailing to The Blue Lagoon

The next morning we returned to Latchi harbour and boarded the Koulla , a pleasure boat for a trip to the Blue lagoon. The boat only had 9 other guests so there was plenty of room onboard.

We sailed leisurley along the coastline with a lovely sea breeze keeping us cool.

After tying up at the Blue lagoon, we were soon in the beautiful, turquoise water. While we were swimming the crew were preparing roast souvla of pork and chicken, this was washed down with a cold glass of white wine.

There was time for another swim before the relaxing journey back to the harbour. In the evening we went over to one of our old haunts in Latchi, the Souli Hotel. We have stay here a couple of times and it never fails when it comes to a dining experience, with the restaurant set on the water's edge, the food and service was superb.

A Trip to Latchi

We decided to have a short break in the coastal village of Latchi, which is just over an hour's drive from Pissouri. Our base for our visit was the Akamanthea  hotel, which lies halfway between Latchi and the town of Polis.

After dropping off our bags we took a drive over to the Polis camping site which has a lovely bar right on the beachfront.

On our first evening we took a walk down to Latchi harbour  we spent some time " people watching" and then wandered over to the Island beach bar for a drink and watched a beautiful sunset.

We then strolled  over to Y and P fish restaurant for a lovely meal overlooking the harbour.

Wales in the Euros and Aphrodite Repairs

Saturday saw us celebrating the Welsh football team qualifying for the knockout stages of Euro 2020, played in 2021. Wales finished second in their group and now face Denmark on Saturday.

Just outside Pissouri, repairs to the coastal road that runs past Aphrodite's rock have begun. This part of the road has been closed for several years, which is such a pity because it is a beautiful scenic drive.

The Ampeli and The Namaste.

Friday night saw us meet up with a few friends down at the Ampeli taverna in Pissouri bay and for some unknown reason,  pink glasses were the order of the day.

On Saturday evening we joined Martine and John for a visit to The Namaste Indian restaurant in Paphos. Not realising that they had moved premises, we actually pitched up at the old restaurant which was in total darkness.  After a brief phone call we soon found the new restaurant which was only minutes away.

The food at the Namaste is excellent, slightly more subtle slightly tastes than the usual Indian restaurants. The service at the Namaste was also very good.

Second Covid 19 Jabs and Abba Alive Tribute Group

The week started off by Mandy getting her second Pfizer jab for the Covid pandemic. The process was quick and efficient and well organized at the Limassol sports center. A few days later, Rob had his second Astra Zeneca jab and this time, thankfully,  suffered no symptoms.

On a warm Saturday  evening,  Mandy took the "Golden girls"  down to thr Pissouri amphitheatre to watch the "Abba Alive" tribute band. A huge  crowd turned out to enjoy all the old classic songs end there were also a number of amusing costumes on display in the audience.
