Droushia village and the Blue Lagoon.

On our final day in Droushia we took an early morning stroll around this  Cypriot village where new builds and renovated houses sit next to the old style of traditional houses.

We then drove down to the harbour at Latchi and boarded the "Koula" boat for a trip along the coast ending up at The Blue Lagoon for a swim in the gorgeous blue water followed by a lunch of Souvla cooked onboard on the aft deck.

In the evening we strolled the short walk over to the Droushia heights hotel, we sat on their terrace and enjoyed a drink as we watched the sunset over the Mediterranean sea.

We then enjoyed an excellent meal and a special thanks must go to the staff who were superb.

Latchi harbour for Lunch

We drove down from Droushia to the small port of Latchi, even at mid morning the temperatures were well in to the 30's.

We then took a short stroll over to Latchi beach, but the Midday sun was far too hot to hang about.

We stopped off for a cooling drink before heading over to the Souli hotel. We had a fish lunch on the terrace just yards from the sea.

That evening we once again strolled into the village of Droushia and enjoyed a meal in the pretty courtyard of filippos Finikas tavern.

Droushia Heights - Cyprus

Trying to escape the extreme temperatures we drove up to the village of Droushia and checked into a lovely apartment right next door to the Droushia heights hotel.

Thankfully  we were allowed to use all the hotel facilities, so we spent the afternoon poolside.

In the evening we took the short stroll into the village of Droushia,  this is a tiny village but full of old world charm with its cobbled streets and original  stone houses and traditional  Cypriot buildings

We then enjoyed a traditional Cypriot meal at the O Stathmos taverna of moussaka and stifado.

Back in South Wales, our God daughter,  Cari , took the lead role in her school's production of "Beauty and the beast"

Cari did an outstanding job and was congratulated by her family who attended the Show.

The lack of Commitments and the Cool Kids holiday break

On a very warm Saturday evening we made our way down to the Pissouri amphitheatre to see the live band "The lack of Commitments ".

A good crowd enjoyed this superb band who sung a number of Soul classics and created a wonderful atmosphere.

The Cool kids, Cari and Jude, enjoyed the good weather in the UK by having a short holiday at a caravan park in Newquay, West Wales.

Anogyra, Hideaway and the Iron Horse

On Saturday we drove over to the village of Anogyra to spend a very relaxing afternoon at the Nicholas restaurant. The Nicholas has a lovely swimming pool and small gardens.

They do some lovely food including probably the largest omelette we have ever had.

We returned to Pissouri to meet up with Jayne and Barry for a delicious meal at The Hideaway restaurant.

On the way home we nipped in to The Iron Horse bar where they were having a "Retro music" night, it was good to see so many old faces that we had not seen for a while.

The following day we returned to Anoyra  for lunch at the Anagyris park restaurant with Steve, Mary, Donna and Nige.

When we booked we did not know that this would coincide with a Christening taking place at the restaurant. Even though there were numerous guests at the event, the owner, Marios, went out of his way to welcome us.

He had set up a private table in a gazebo in the garden where he served us a truly delicious meal in a lovely setting.
