High temperatures and Fires

Unusually high temperatures hit Cyprus this past week with temperatures topping at 45 degrees C in parts of the Island. The sever Red warning was put in place and schools closed early.

There were a couple of nasty wild fires that broke out on the Paphos region, causing damage to nearly two dozen homes.

New Pissouri Police station, Kouklia and Souvlaki

Our new Police station in Pissouri was officially opened this weekend in the presence of the President of Cyprus.

On the following Sunday were drove out to the village of Kouklia to meet up with our friends, Paul, Judith, Myles and Tracey. We had lunch at the "More Social" taverna.

We all plumped for the Ploughman's lunch, which was very tasty.

A new takeaway restaurant has just opened in the village square,  specialising in Souvlaki, we wish it well.
