Robin and Diane's Golden Wediing

Robin and Diane invited us to a party in their house to celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary.

The Party was held in their garden in Pissouri, a superbly cook BBQ and live music helped family, friends and neighbours celebrate 50 years of marriage.

As a surprise gift, friends and neighbours chipped in to give them a bronze garden statue of a couple embracing. It was a wonderful party for a very special couple.

Abba Dabbadoo in Pissouri

The Pissouri amphitheatre with its dramatic coastline views was the setting for the Abba tribute band, Abbadabbadoo.

On a warm and windy evening over 600 people were entertained with the hits of the former Swedish pop band. The popular tunes soon had the dance floor full of people dancing the night away.

An evening on the waves in Paphos

After several days of sweltering heat in Cyprus we decided to cool off by joining 40 other residents of Pissouri by joining the "Wavedancer" evening cruise. The cool sea breeze was a welcome change and the cruise provided good food and live entertainment.

Cyprus night at the Vineleaf

Returning to Cyprus from the Petrol strikes of the UK, we were met with the News that we now have our water cut off two days a week in Pissouri, so we used the old rule of,  if you can't drink water drink beer !

On a very warm evening, we went down to the Vineleaf taverna in Pissouri Bay to watch the weekly Cyprus night.

After enjoying a tasty buffet, the crowd were entertained by traditional Cypriot dancers and a belly dancer.

The following evening we were invited to Sheena and Brian's BBQ which was a birthday celebration for thir son, Jamie.

A visit to Cardiff.

South Wales was our next destination and the Welsh Capital city of Cardiff, we took a stroll around one of the City's superb gardens. Roath park is a haven for birdlife and we were lucky enough to find new born signets swimming with thier Mother.

In the Evening we met up family and friends at The Quarry pub, we had a few drinks, a wonderful meal and a lot of Laughs.

A visit to Birmingham

We flew from Paphos to Cardiff for a week's visit to the UK. We picked up a hire car from the airport and headed to the Midlands town of Redditch.

Our first stop was to visit Mandy's Mother and then brother Roy.

Roy and his wife Janet were celebrating thier 41st wedding anniversary.

Mandy had organised a family gathering at a local pub and various members of the family turned up, some had not seen each other for over twenty Years so there was plenty of catching up to be done.

A suckling pig and a huge amount of Souvla (Pork) were prepared for the barbeque and cooked to perfection by Alan, this was accompanied by a variety of salads and cold dishes brought by the guests.

We left around midnight that evening but we were told that the party went on for 48 hours !

Cardiff's Cup final 2008

The big day has arrived, our local team, Cardiff City is playing in the FA Cup final against Portsmouth, being played at Wembley Stadium in London.

Our Cup Final day

Lee and I jumped on a bus into Cardiff , stopped off for a full brekkie and then headed towards Cardiff Bay to meet up with the rest of the gang. We bumped into a hord of young girls who were dressed in St. Trinians schoolgirl outfits on a Hen day out, the noise they made on the bus had to be heard to believed.

We made it down to the Packet pub and settled in to watch the game, the Cardiff team played well, held their own against Pompey and at times outplayed them, but it was not to be our day and went down to a 0-1 defeat.

Still, we managed to drown our sorrow with a few more pints of Brains beer and a good craic with the rest of the City Fans. We finished off our day with visit to a Mexican restaurant for some well needed Spicey food.

Well done Bluebirds, it was well worth the trip home from Cyprus.
