Lisa and Andrew's Wedding Day

In Ogmore by sea, on the day of Lisa and Andrew's wedding we awoke to fine drizzle falling from the skies. First stop was the bungalow where the bridesmaids,"The Famous Flampettes" spent the night and prepared for the big day.

And what a day it turned out to be, I was honoured to walk my Goddaughter,  Lisa, down the aisle in South Wales as she married Andrew. Lisa looked absolutely stunning and Andrew looked very handsome .

As the bride and groom stood in front of the preacher, a drag queen ran down the aisle screaming the song, “It should have been me" and thumping poor Andrew with her handbag, the congregation were in hysterics and that set the tone for the day,  no formality,  just a wonderful  relaxed atmosphere.

After a wonderful meal we had some great speeches but I think Lisa stole the show with her's which was heart felt and in places very funny.

Andrew then stood up and said that he wasn't a fan of public speaking and that he had two friends who would speak for him.

Well these two guys had written a song ("You want to make  me Live") just for the wedding and they were so professional,  the marquee filled with the backing music and these guys nailed the song.....and as they say “the crowd went wild". Then Gavin kept the tempo going with a singalong with the guests.

We then went outside for some photos with the stunning coastline as a backdrop and we all waved and cheered a a drone made several overhead passes of the guests.

Then the evening guests started to arrived and took the chance to use out own private bouncy castle with the “Cool kids", Jude and Cari.

We then went into one of the bars where"Big Mac's wholly Soul band", a live 12 piece band played a couple of superb sets and the guests danced the night away as fish and chips were served. All too soon it was time to make our way home after a truly memorable day.

Arriving in South Wales

The next  morning , a beautifully, sunny day, we collected our hire car and made our way over to South Wales. Our first stop was to see Sarah, Lee and the "Cool Kids", Jude and Cari.

We then headed to the small village of Ewenny,  which lies just South of the town of Bridgend. We booked into the Ewenny farm guesthouse which proved to be an excellent choice.

We then drove down to the Village of Ogmore, the venue for the wedding.
Lisa and her friends/bridesmaids were staying in  lovely cottages overlooking the dramatic coastline. All the ladies were very excited and talkative.

We then stopped off for a quiet drink at a pub called The Pelican In Her Piety that overlooks Ogmore castle and the Ewenny river.

Our final "port of call" was The Watermill,  where we had our evening meal.

A Visit to the UK for The Wedding

At 10.30 pm on a warm Summer's evening we left Paphos airport (Cyprus) and took the five hour flight to Bristol (UK.)

On our arrival in Bristol we were surprised to see how busy the airport was, I guess its because we usually
return to the UK in the Winter months.

After a long wait at baggage reclaim we took the short walk to our Hotel and finally made it to bed around 2.30am, very tired but happy to have made it safely and on time.

A day at Fasouri WaterMania

On a hot August morning, we made our way over to Limassol to visit the Fasouri Water Mania Park. We were joined by Sheena, Bryan, Jamie and the Kids Holly and Rowan for a fun day on the water slides.

It was our first visit to this water park  and we were impressed at how well it was run, not too crowed, no long lines for the rides and reasonably priced food and drink.
