Tina and Paul hosted a party to celebrate Tina's Birthday, a large number of guests turned up to help the birthday girl celebrate.

There was a huge selection of food and some superbly cooked souvla, Mandy made one of her special quiche's , which was enjoyed by most of the guests, except one person who declined to have a taste...No names, no pack drill, but The Milk Tray man was yet again involved.

Timi Market

We drove down to Timi market/car boot sale to set up a stand to sell some of our unwanted household goods and clothes. Our friends, Judith and Paul, had the neighbouring pitch and on a lovely sunny day there was some good natured banter between us.

Welsh Rugby Party

A rugby party was held at Jan and Alun’s house to watch the deciding match in the six nations rugby tournament.

Arthur cooked his up a pot of his famous faggots and a thrilling game was won by Ireland 17-15 , who won their first Grand Slam for 61 years.

The Cyprus rugby team

The Cyprus rugby team played Slovakia in a European Nations cup division 3D group game.

We drove down to the Happy valley sports ground in Episkopi where a good crowd turned up to watch the Cypriot team win by 33 -7.

Damien’s birthday

Damien and Sue hosted a BBQ at their house to celebrate Damien’s birthday.

One person (who will go unnamed) was nearly ejected for stealing most of the M&M’s from the birthday cake.

FOG and Lemons

The Friends of guiding movement, held their monthly FOG 100 draw, Mandy was on hand to pick out one of the lucky winners with the help of Marilyn Fowler and Sally Day.

This years crop of Lemons has been very good, so we took the time to pick a few, a couple for the G&T's and then Mandy uses the rest to make marmalade.

Sue and Damien's Wedding in Las Vegas

Our friends, Sue and Damien, returned to Pissouri from Las Vegas where they went to get married. The Happy couple actually got married in a helicopter as it flew down the Vegas strip.

Sue and Damien had a great time in the U.S and we send them our best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

Green Day

Theo’s annual Green day lunch was held down at his farm, Green day marks the start of the time the Cypriots abstain from eating meat, lasting up to Easter.

Theo and his family along with friends enjoyed a superb lunch including vegetables, fruit, cheeses, squid, octopus, bread and olives and the odd glass of wine.

In Mmemory of Sean McCarthey

Rob had the sad duty of returning to Cardiff, UK to attend the funeral of a dear friend, Sean.

Rob and Sean had been friends for many years, they actually attended the same Nursery school at West Close in Cardiff's Docklands.

The huge turnout of mourners at the Service at St. Cuthberts church was a fitting tribute as to just how popular Sean was.

Rob's 50th Dinner Party

The Olympus Palace restaurant in Pissouri was the venue for a dinner to celebrate Rob's 50th birthday.

A big thank you to Mandy for all her hard work and the ladies who helped her decorate the restaurant.

My thanks to all who attended and for all your good wishes, and special thanks to the "Milk tray man" for his gracious speech.

Dave and Lynne were kind enough to invite us to their company's annual dinner at the Aphrodite hills complex. The Food and company were superb and special thanks goes to the Girl who ate all the chocolate cake....You know who you are.

Rob's 50 th

Rob's 50th Birthday. The Old fella celebrated his half century with a few dinks with friends down the 1911 club.

Thanks to al who turned up, athe the gifts and card and all the mickey taking.

Hong Kong

Our second stopover was in Hong Kong.

We took a trip over to Hong Kong Island and wandered around the street markets, which are full of colour, noise and the locals doing their daily shopping.

We spent some time in the South Seas Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Cafe de Fontaine has a good selection of beer and food.

On our final day a thick fog enveloped the city and gave the skyscrapers a ghostly appearence as they tried to break through the haze.

Our final stopover was in Bahrain.

The Bahrain skyline is dominated by a huge number of building projects, especially on the coast of the City of Manama. Away from the coast you can still wander the small streets and alleyways of the old town and see how the locals go about their daily living.

Leaving Brisbane we started the long trek home to Cyprus with a stopover in Sydney.

We took a train down to the harbour, visited the Opera house and then visited several pubs in the 'Rocks' disrtict. The Fortune of war pub is the oldest pub in Sydney, dating back to 1828.

The News here in Australia has been dominated by the tragic bushfires in Victoria. The worst natural disaster in the country's history.

Brisbane

Leaving Surfers Paradise we drove onto our final destination of the road trip...The City of Brisbane.

Brisbane has made the most of it riverside location, with some good waterside walks, parks and even an inner City beach with man made lagoon. A must for any visitor is a boat trip down the Brisbane river, with great views of the City's skyline.

We took the train to the coastal resort of Manly, with its huge marina and spent a couple of hours cooling off in the local swimming pool.
