Australia - Part 1 Sydney -2006

From Malaysia we flew to Sydney Airport, we arrived at 6.00am and then hopped on a train to Darling Harbour. We wandered around Sydney center in the drizzling rain.

In the evening we took a cruise around Darling harbour, we had a drink in the Ice bar and a Chinese meal in "The East" overlooking Sydney Harbour bridge.

Australia Day.

The following day was Australia day so we made our way over to The Sydney Tower which had wonderful views of the City. We then did the Oz trek experience before heading over to Hyde Park where we ate steak pies in the shape of Australia.

We walked down to Circular harbour where they were plenty of street entertainers, we walked onward to "The Rocks" area where 4 stages were set up for different kinds of music.

Back in the harbour we watched a flotilla of boats arrive, parachutists land and a display of jets flew overhead.

We walked over to a local park to join a large crowd to watch a band called "Taxi ride"

Walking home we popped into The Dundee pub and met a few expats.

Blue Mountains

The next day we joined a bus tour to The Blue Mountains, We had an early start but we stopped off for coffee on the banks of the Neapen river.
We then drove onto the Jameson valley to see the famous clouds rising from the valley.

Next stop was the Wentworth water falls before stopping off for lunch at Leura.

We moved on to the Emile Lookout to see The Three Sister rock formation.

Next stop was an old mine, which they said was the World's steepest train ride, then cooled off with a couple of ice creams.

We moved onto the Blue Mountain National Park(Glenbrook) to see a  mob of kangaroos.

The Famous Opera House.
The Next Day we walked over to the World famous Sydney Opera House.

From the Opera House we jumped on a local ferry that took us over to Manley. This is a beautiful area with dramatic rocks to the sea and a super beach.

The return ferry ride show off the Sydney skyline as the sunset.
