To celebrate Mandy's birthday we took a trip to Northern Cyprus, our base for the visit was The Malpas Hotel. We were joined by several friends who helped the birthday girl see in her Landmark birthday. Mary baked her first cake which the guests thought was superb.
In the evening we made our way up to the village of Catalkoy and found a very warm welcome in the village bar from its owner, Adnan.
The next day we went for a drive along the picturesque Northern coastline, ending up at the village of Kayalar. We then returned to the harbour at Girne and enjoyed the Winter sunshine. One of our party savoured his first virgin Irish coffee.
