The following morning, we woke in our hotel in Frankfurt to a beautiful snow-covered scene. The sun was shining brightly, reflecting off the fresh white rooftops — the kind of crisp winter morning that makes you glad you drew back the curtains.
After a hearty buffet breakfast, Rob headed out for a short stroll around the neighbourhood to stretch his legs. Despite the temperature hovering just above freezing, the cold air felt invigorating. Soon after, we jumped into a taxi and within ten minutes were pulling up at the airport, ready for the next leg of our journey.
At 2pm we took off from Frankfurt Airport aboard a Lufthansa Boeing 747-8 for the 12-hour flight to Tokyo. As we began our descent, we were lucky enough to catch a crystal-clear view of Mount Fuji, standing proudly in all its snow-capped glory — an unforgettable first glimpse of Japan.
After landing, we boarded the Airport Limousine bus, which turned out to be comfortable and good value at only 1000 Yen per person
The drive from the airport turned out to be slow due to heavy traffic, we crossed several huge bridges and either side was the mamouth port.
We finaly arrived at our accommodation in Yokohama, The Citadines Harbour Front Hotel, we were both pretty exhausted.
