A Merry Christmas to all  our Blog visitors

Christmas day started with a trip down to Pissouri bay for a beach breakfast of Champagne and sausage sandwiches. Jan and Steve were brave enough for a dip in the sea.

Next stop was The Pissouriana for a pre lunch drink with friends and neighbours. We then returned home where Mary and Mandy cooked a superb Christmas dinner.

Dinner at The Symposium

On a blustery evening The Symposium tavern was the venue for a fish and chip dinner. One of the guests (a certain dive instructor)  had to leave early but his slice of apple pie did not go to waste. We then moved onto the 1911 club for a bit of dodgy carol singing.

A hike from Plataniskia.

During a break in this Month's wet weather, Rob and Steve took the opportunity to go for a hike in the local hills. Their starting point was the village of Plataniskia, they then walked South, following the valley of a dried up river bed.

A lunch break was taken on top of a high plateau with superb views of the surrounding countryside. A  nest of insects was found and the insects had strange makings on their bodies.

The Hike continued South through local vinyards and arable land to the finishing point at Pissouri Bay.

We then returned home for a warming meal and an Irish coffee.

For this years's Bonfire night we went down to the beach at Episkopi, there was a huge turnout for this annual event. A military band played a selection of well known tunes as the kids danced around withtheir "glow in the dark" bracelets.

The Hot dog stand did a roaring trade (as well as the bar) as the large bonfire with its traditional Guy Fawkes effigies was set alight. Then the main part of the evening began as a superb firework display lit up the night time sky.
