To Blow away the cobwebs of the recent festivities we decided on a walk from Limassol Old Port to the Marina, a walk of some 17Km.

The path along the coast is very good but with recent storms there was quite a bit of damage, so at times it was a bit of a scramble along the sea front. There was quite a swell kicking up from the sea which made for some interesting maneuvers by the team.

Mary's Birthday 2010

To celebrate Mary's birthday we went over to Mandria beach for a walk along the beach in a pleasant 24 degrees, we then made our way over to Timi beach for a pre dinner drink and met a character with a rifle called "Rambo"

We then headed over to Costas Taverna in Geriskipou for an excellent lunch and on the way home we bumped into Santa.

In the evening we settled down with Irish coffees and birthday cake (sorry the candles were the wrong way round Mary) and watched the premier of Scuba Steve....more about that later.

On a beautiful, crisp morning we set out from Paramali beach on a hike to Curium.

We made our way around the British Garrison at Episkopi until we reached a lookout point at the edge of the base which has some great views of the coastline.

We carried on past the archaeological site  at Curium and ended on hike on the beach below.

In the evening Josie and Derek were kind enough to invite us to their home for a Christmas  drink and Georgia amazed us with her magical card tricks, although baby Amelia was happy enough with her beans !

A Hike to Avakas Gorge

On a blustery day Rob and Steve  teamed up to hike from Chlorakas to the Avakas Gorge a walk estimated at 25K. After the recent storms that have hit Cyprus we noted quite a bit of damage along the coastline.

We were lucky enough to see a tornado forming and watch it drop down to churn up the sea.

We carried on past The Sea Caves are which gave us some great views of the dramatic coastline.

After 7 hours of hiking over a variety of terrain and in fading light we reached the edge of the Akamas Nature reserve.

A traditional dinner was served up and then the crowd were entertained by the vocal talents of Kaela Santosh .
There was also a suprise  appearance by Denzil and Charlie (Tranmere.)

Storms Hit Cyprus

Cyprus is hit by storms this weekend, high winds, a 16 hour electrical storm and several cuts to the power supply causes the postponement of the PRA carols in the Square.

To clear the cobwebs we took a trip down to Aphrodite's rock to watch the waves crash in.
