Electrical Storm, a First Birthday and Sunsets

On Wednesday we had our first rains after the Summer season, at Midnight a huge electrical storm passed over the village. Earlier that evening we said Goodbye to our friends, Sally and Billy, who are returning to the Channel Islands.

On Thursday Jude celebrated his first birthday with a trip to Folly Farm in South Wales. He also got to play with his new "Brick Truck"

As Summer slowly draws to a close in Cyprus, it gives us a chance to see some superb views from our balcony of the sun setting behind the clouds over the Mediterranean sea.

Cruising on the Vela Yacht and The Almond Village

On the Wednesday we drove over to Kyrenia harbour and as planned, boarded the Vela sailing yacht for a day at sea.

Captain Serhat welcomed us on board an introduced us to his Mother, his brother and his 7 year old nephew, Karim.TheVela yacht had only two other guests , two young ladies from the Netherlands so it felt liked a private cruise.

At 10.00 am we set sail and made our way along the Northern Coastline of Cyprus with its dramatic mountains set in the background.

We then anchored up for a hour of Swimming and snorkelling. We then sat down to a superb meal that was prepared on the boat by the Captain's 75 year old Mother and a bbq cooked on the rear of the yacht.

After six hours onboard this beautiful yacht we moored up back in the harbour and bid our farewells to the family.

After a quick "wash and brush up" we headed over to the village of Lapta and enjoyed a lovely meal at the Almond village hotel.

An anniversary trip to Northern Cyprus

To celebrate our 12th Wedding anniversary we drove over to the Northern coast of Cyprus. The drive took about two and a quarter hours, we checked into the Manolya hotel  which is situated near the village of Lapta.
In the evening we wandered over to the Calamari restaurant for a lovely meal on the waterside terrace and watched a lovely sunset.

The next day we started with a drive up to the Village of Lapta , it was quite a steep drive but the commanding views of the coast were well worth it. We then made our way back down to the coast to take a stroll along the new boardwalk. We stopped off at the Hannimelor restaurant for a bite to eat.

In the evening we took the short stroll over to the Blue song restaurant in Lapta, we both agreed that the food and service were of a high standard and very good value for money.

Quiz Night and SeptemberFest in Pissouri
