Lee's 30th Birthday

We decided to make a brief visit to the UK, we flew from Larnaca into Birmingham airport just as a large storm was about to hit Southern Britain. We drove down to South Wales passing by flooded fields, roads and even saw a golf course under water.

The Reason for visiting Cardiff was to celebrate Lee's 30th birthday, we had not told anyone we were visiting and the fist person we surprised was Lee's sister Lisa who herself had just arrived from Australia and was also going to surprise the birthday boy.

Later on that first night we all met up at the Tredegar Arms in Rogerstone for a family dinner, Lisa hid behind the bar and popped up to serve Lee when he went to the bar for a drink. After the commotion of that surprise subsided we  sneaked up on Lee and its fair to say that he was gobsmacked.

The following evening a party had been arranged at the Cathays Cons club for Lee's birthday, Lee's girlfriend,  Sarah, did a superb job of decorating the room and organising a lovely buffet.

It was so good to see so many family and friends that we had not seen for a couple of years, there was also a surprise for Rob as his good friends Mike and Linda turned up and they spent a couple of hours catching up on each others News.

The Next day we set off from Cardiff and made our way to Redditch, we were told that our original route via was not passable due to the M50 being flooded, so we made a detour over the Severn crossing. The reason we went to Redditch was to visit Mandy's mum who is in her 88th year.

We also managed to do some last minute shopping it Redditch's impressive Kingfisher shopping centre.

The Old Fella's 50th Birthday

It had been weeks in the planning, I am talking about the Birthday party for 4D.
Firstly, a big Thank you to Mandy and Mary for all their work behind the scenes, setting up the party, accommodation and transport for friends and family.

Its been a difficult few weeks keeping the secret and organising things with his family in the UK.  Come Saturday afternoon, Mary, Rob, Debs and Colin set off for Paphos airport to pick up the arriving guests while the Birthday boy was carted off to the local pub to watch football.

The plane landed from Birmingham, UK with Steve's 2 Brothers, 2 Sisters , other family members and friends. We managed to get them to their accommodation, let them settle in before taking them down to the Two friends Taverna in Pissouri.

Its fair to Say that Steve was Gobsmacked when he saw who had turned up for his party and few tears of happiness were shed. The guests then sat down for a lovely Meze meal and that was followed by some memorable dancing and a unique performance of Zorba The Greek.

Deb's Birthday and Abbadabbadoo

The tribute band Abbadabbadoo came to Pissouri and  entertained a full house with their rendition of all those fabulous Abba tunes.
The band soon had the crowd at the Yialos tavern in Pissouri bay on their feet.

.
Debs and Colin were kind enough to invite us around to their house for a bbq to celebrate Deb's birthday. Happy Birthday Debs ! ...and well done Col for your top notch cooking.

Floods, The Draw and a Trip to Larnaca

The Lads of Pissouri went on a weekend trip to Larnaca to celebrate 4D's upcoming 50th Birthday. They mixed with the Locals, did a bit of sight seeing, strolled along the Waterfront and had a couple of refreshing drinks.

As the first heavy rains this Autumn hits Pissouri the main road into the village turns into a small river.

We also suffered Electrical cuts as a general fault  occurred at at Vasilikos Power station and affected many areas Island wide.

Meanwhile, down at the Giraffe pub a draw was held to decide who shared with who on the forthcoming trip to Larnaca to celebrate Fordy's BIG 50th Birthday.

Bonfire Night

A larger than usual crowd turned out on a very mild night to enjoy the Bonfire night celebrations down at Lemmings beach in Episkopi. A traditional bonfire was lit on the beach and then the crowd were entertained by a superb firework show.

On Sunday we popped down to the 1911 club which has been closed for refurbishment and taken over by new management.
