New Year's Eve

This Year we decided to have a quiet NYE and were kindly invited to Sheena and Bryan's house for a wonderful meal. The main course Beef Wellington was delicious.

At midnight we stepped out onto the patio and watched the impressive firework display that came from the Colombia hotel down at Pissouri Bay.

Boxing Day - A Live interview and a Drone flies

Rob's cousin, Lisa, appeared on BBC 5 Live programme to talk about, as Lisa said...."Today marks 2 years since Controlling and Coercive Behaviour became ILLEGAL.
Listen to me discussing this legislation and how there is still much work to be done in recognising and prosecuting against this type of abuse (I feature 6 minutes and 30 seconds in).
Coercive control is more commonly known as psychological, emotional or mental abuse"

Rob picked up his first drone, eachine E58 and gave it its first test flight after a few minor crashes he managed to take the drone on its  maiden flight.

Christmas Day 2017

A very Merry Christmas to all our family, friends and visitors to the blog.

We returned home from the beach and Bryan and Sheena joined  us at home where Mandy served up a wonderful traditional Christmas dinner.

On a beautiful Christmas morning we trooped down to Pissouri beach to meet up with friends, have bacon sandwiches and a glass of bubbly. Some brave souls even decided to try a dip in the sea.

We hit the ground running on our return to Cyprus by inviting a few friends around for drinks and nibbles. It was great to see Arthur up and about after his recent time  in hospital.

Cari's Christening

On a wet and Windy Sunday morning we drove up to St Basil's church  in Bassaleg to attend baby Cari's Christening. We were honoured to be asked to be Caris Godparents. The Church was beautifully decorated and the simple but heart warming ceremony was officiated by the Rev Elizabeth Kerl.

We then returned to a local Village hall for a drink, superb buffet and a catch up with friends and family.

After a wonderful day we ended our visit to Cardiff with a superb meal at Bistrot Pierre in Cardiff's brewery quarter.

South Wales visit part 3

On a clear but cold morning we made our way over to the near by town of Penarth. We started off with a hearty  breakfast before heading over to the sea front  and a stroll along the pier.

We then drove over to visit Cardiff bay for a walk along the dockside, stopped of for a coffee and did a spot of people watching.

In the afternoon we made our way back into central Cardiff, Mandy did some Christmas shopping and Rob made his way over to the Millenium stadium to find his Father's memorial stone that was placed down some 25 years ago.
The day ended with a visit to the German style market and its over priced Bierkeller.

South Wales visit part 2

The following day we once again joined up with Lee, Sara, Jude and Cari for a visit to Cefn Mably Park Farm. Jude enjoyed the petting area and running around the countryside paths. Cari took everything in her stride and enjoyed a couple of Chips.

In the evening we made our way over to the Canton area of Cardiff to meet up with friends who visited us in Cyprus earlier in the year. We enjoyed a couple of drinks before moving onto The Riverside Chinese restaurant for a lovely meal.
