Kite Surfers and The Red Arrows

Tuesday saw us down on Kyrenia beach watching the impressive kite surfers as they twisted and turned on the wind and waves.

We knew before heading to the beach that the RAF Red Arrows display team would be doing a fly past as they headed towards Akrotiri air base. Right on time they blasted from the West high above us and turned on their smoke as they hit Akrotiri.

Double header at The Amphitheatre

There were two music shows on this weekend at the Pissouri amphitheatre. The first show was organized by the Pafos Rotary  club and consisted of three acts.

The first act were called "On the Wave", they were a duo consisting of a girl singer accompanied by a guy on the electric guitar.

Next up were the blues band, Murphy's brother in law",  their energetic set covered a number of standard blues and rock classics.

The final group to perform were "The Cover up", a four piece band who did a variety of covers with some outstanding guitar solos by Dominic.

The following night, Mandy and the Golden girls returned to the Amphitheatre to see Johnny Dee's tribute act to Neil Diamond.  They all agreed that his was one of the finest acts to play in Pissouri and Johnny's voice was uncannily similar to the real artist.

KB beach and "Regina Queen"

This week started off with a visit to the Kyrenia beach restaurant with our friends, Mike and Tina, who we had not seen for two years due to the travel restrictions caused by Covid 19.

On a beautiful late Summer's evening we watched a glorious sunset while enjoying a fish dinner and catching up on each others news.

Tina presented Mandy with a beautiful cross stitch of a African elephant to Mark her 60th birthday.

On Saturday a capacity crowd filled Pissouri amphitheatre to watch the tribute band "Regina Queen". The guys played a live show and soon had the audience on their feet.

Bee Gees tribute , back to school and Tom Jones in Telford

The Pissouri amphitheatre was once again the venue for a tribute act, this time it was the turn of the Bee Gees. The group entertained a good size audience, playing all the old hits live on stage.

Meanwhile back in the UK, it was a return to School for the Cool kids and they both looked very smart in their new uniforms.

In Telford, Lisa and Andrew attended a Tom Jones show and the old maestro gave the crowd a superb show.
