Mr and Mrs quiz at the 1911 club

The 1911 club was the venue for a Mr & Mrs quiz, a good crowd of contestants entered and there was some good natured banter between the various couples.

The eventual winners were Jan and Alun who were presented with a bottle of bubbly by Theo.

Driving up to Birmingham

On the Sunday morning we took a leisurely drive through the Wye Valley as we made our way back up towards The Midlands.

Our base for our time in the area was the town of Redditch. We met up with Roy, Janet and Karen in The Foxlydiate Arm for a lovely meal. Thanks Kaza for The Thorntons.

Football at Cardiff City FC

Getting up bright and early the next morning, Rob made his way down to the Canton area to meet up with old friends Kenny and Craig, they then made their way over to Cardiff City's impressive new football stadium to watch the Bluebirds beat local rivals Bristol City 3-2 in a thrilling game.

After the game the lads went for a quick pint (or two) and were joined by Mike to catch up with News and remember Old Times.

A visit to Cardiff

On a beautiful Autumn's evening, we fly into Birmingham airport for a week's visit to the UK. The first thing we noticed was the amount of traffic on the roads as we drove down to Cardiff.

In Cardiff we met up with family and friends in the Grange pub and then went for a lovely meal.

Sue's Kareoke Birthday party

Sue held a Kareoke party at the 1911 club to celebrate her birthday, a great crowd turned out to wish the birthday girl well. Some of the singing was, well shall we say, Unusual.

Karen and Simon's 25 th Wedding Anniversary

To help celebrate their 25th Wedding anniversary, Karen and Simon invited us around to their apartment. We enjoyed the superb views over Akrotiri bay and enjoyed a couple of Sundowners.

Unfortunately one of the guests, who will not be named here, walked straight though a flyscreen with such force that he kicked it right out of its track....trust a Villa fan !

 

Stavrovouni Monastary

Clancy, Steve and Rob took a trip up to Stavrovouni Monastary which lies between Limassol and Larnaca. The Monastary was built on a hill at  700m. There are superb views of the coastline and North towards Nicosia.
