We decided to make a brief visit to the UK, we flew from Larnaca into Birmingham airport just as a large storm was about to hit Southern Britain. We drove down to South Wales passing by flooded fields, roads and even saw a golf course under water.
The Reason for visiting Cardiff was to celebrate Lee's 30th birthday, we had not told anyone we were visiting and the fist person we surprised was Lee's sister Lisa who herself had just arrived from Australia and was also going to surprise the birthday boy.
Later on that first night we all met up at the Tredegar Arms in Rogerstone for a family dinner, Lisa hid behind the bar and popped up to serve Lee when he went to the bar for a drink. After the commotion of that surprise subsided we sneaked up on Lee and its fair to say that he was gobsmacked.
The following evening a party had been arranged at the Cathays Cons club for Lee's birthday, Lee's girlfriend, Sarah, did a superb job of decorating the room and organising a lovely buffet.
It was so good to see so many family and friends that we had not seen for a couple of years, there was also a surprise for Rob as his good friends Mike and Linda turned up and they spent a couple of hours catching up on each others News.
The Next day we set off from Cardiff and made our way to Redditch, we were told that our original route via was not passable due to the M50 being flooded, so we made a detour over the Severn crossing. The reason we went to Redditch was to visit Mandy's mum who is in her 88th year.
We also managed to do some last minute shopping it Redditch's impressive Kingfisher shopping centre.
