Lynne's New Year Birthday bash

The Pissouriana Hotel was the venue for Lynne's New Year's eve birthday bash. Family and friends turned out to celebrate Lynne's 50th Birthday.

After a day of high winds, rain, thunder and lightening we were sitting quietly at home on Saturday evening when we felt 3 shakes in the room, a number of other people in the village felt them as well.

Christmas Day In Pissouri

On a bright and breezy Christmas day in Pissouri,  we struggled up (a whole 100 meters) to The Olympus Palace restaurant for a traditional Christmas meal of Turkey and Gammon.
Singer, Danny Delaney, kept the guests entertained for over 7 hours.

Christmas Eve

On a beautiful  Christmas Eve we started off with a breath of fresh with a walk along Paramali Beach.

In the evening we made our down the Vraka tavern in Pissouri Square to see Chris King perform his "Elvis Christmas" show. Jan and Alun joined us for a superb meal followed by a very entertaining show.

The Hillview

We were lucky enough to win the first prize in the village raffle, the prize was a meal at The Hillview restaurant. On a beautiful clear day we were joined by Bryan and Sheena and enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch.

Martin and Donna's Christmas drinks

On Saturday evening we were  kindly invited to Martin and Donna's house for pre Christmas drinks, their house stands on hill overlooking Pissouri and has commanding views of the surrounding area.

Dinner at Bryan and Sheena's

Continuing the early Christmas theme, we were kindly invited to their house for a Christmas dinner, we were joined by Jane and Arthur. Sheena cooked up a superb Turkey and Duck dinner.

A blast of cold air has hit Cyprus this week with temperatures plummeting downwards. On the plus side the Troodos mountains look very picturesque from our living room.

Bon Voyage

To wish the lads farewell and a safe trip back to Sweden, we had a few friends around.

Johan, Robin and a Trip up North

Johan and Robin flew in from Sweden for a week's visit. Due to the fact that they will not be here for Christmas we decided to make their first Sunday here "Christmas Day".

We then decided to take a trip up to Norther Cyprus and visited the town of Kyrenia. Our first stop was the picturesque Harbour.

We then wandered up to Bellapais Monastery  which  is located at the foot of the Five Finger Mountain Range with panoramic views of Kyrenia Town and its new harbour. The Monastery is situated approximately 2 miles from Kyrenia Town.

Our final stop was the ruined castle of St Hilarion which also lies just outside Kyrenia in the Five finger Mountain range. The position of the Castle gives superb views along the Northern coastline of Cyprus.
