This New Year's eve we spent at a friends house and enjoyed a very good dinner of Beef Wellington, a few quiet drinks and a quiz before watching the fireworks from the patio.

Boxing Day 2018
The clouds rolled in over the mountains in Kyrenia and the temperature dropped several degrees making it feel a lot chillier. We once again walked down to the harbour and watched the waves crashing against the breakwater.
One building that did catch our eye was covered in false snow and icicles and even had machine on the roof that threw out snowflakes.
We met up with Mark and Phil for a lunchtime drink at The George on the old town's main Street. In the evening we enjoyed our final dinner at the Lord's Palace after a very enjoyable stay.

Christmas Day 2018
We were up bright and early, had breakfast and enjoyed the warm sunshine around the hotel pool. We then walked down to the harbour, making our way through the Warren of tiny backstreets. We sat on the waterfront and enjoyed a mid morning cocktail......well, it was Christmas Day.
We then made our way back to the Lord's Palace, got changed and headed up to the Sky lounge which had been beautifully decorated. We then enjoyed a superb eight course Christmas Dinner while being entertained by some tremendous live music.

Northern Cyprus
We decided to spend Christmas in Northern Cyprus, on a beautiful day we left Pissouri and headed towards Nicosia. There was a certain amount of congestion at the border but as soon as we crossed over it was a clear run to Kyrenia.
We booked into the Lord's Palace hotel, unpacked our bags and headed up to the hotel's Sky lounge which has superb views over the town, sea and mountains.
In the evening we met up with friends from Pissouri, enjoyed a couple of drinks before having dinner in the Spice lounge.

Waves, Wind, Kite surfers and a Horse in Pissouri bay
To blow away a few cobwebs, we headed to Pissouri bay on a windy day.
Christmas Carols and Michael's Steakhouse
On a crisp, clear evening , we walked down to Pissouri square to attend the annual "Carols in the square". The event was once again very well attended with a lovely, friendly atmosphere. After speeches by local dignitaries, the Christmas tree was lit and then a number of different choirs sang a variety of Christmas carols.
After the carols we walked up to Michael's steakhouse and enjoyed a superb meal.

Christmas Market and Paphos harbour
On a beautifully mild Saturday morning we drove over to Aphrodite's Golf complex to check out their Christmas market. There was a number of colourful stalls and a nice festive atmosphere. We sat in the square and enjoyed the coffee and mince pies.
The following day we drove over to Paphos harbour, the Winter sunshine certainly brought out locals and visitors alike. It was a pleasure to walk along the waterfront and stop off for a frappe and do a bit of people watching.

Heavy Storms, a Christmas tree and The Christmas Quiz
Heavy, electrical storms have hit Pissouri in recent days but we did manage a walk along Pissouri Bay to see the storm clouds gathering.
Its that time of year when the Good lady of the house decides that it time to put up the Christmas tree......Happy wife - Happy Life.
Friday Evening saw us strolling over to The Hillview restaurant for a Christmas dinner and quiz evening. Our Quiz team "Some Hope", came our usual mid table position. The food, as ever, was extremely good, as was the company and a good night was had by all.

Christmas cakes, hospital , Tree Planting and a Charity fashion show
Mandy attended a Christmas cake decorating course in the nearby village of Episkopi. All the attendees thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the finished cakes were very impressive......and tasty.
Local villagers and council workers came together to plant new saplings along the road that leads from the village down to Pissouri Bay.
Rob had to spend a couple of days in hospital after an operation. The staff at the Polyclinic hospital in Limassol took wonderful care of him during his stay. Nurse Mandy was at hand on his return home to take care of his recovery. Asked if there were any pluses about his time in hospital, Rob answered, "Yes, the raspberry jelly"
Mandy joined a number of friends at The Yialos tavern in Pissouri Bay for a charity, Fashion night. A large crowd turned out to support the event and a superb Barbershop choir provided the entertainment.
