80' Night in Pissouri.

 Mandy and a number of her friends made their way down to the Ranzo's restaurant for a night of 80' music. 

Singer Andre Morrelli kept the crowd entertained with a number of costume  changes as he sang all the old hits.

 The ladies all agreed that it great to be able to get on the dancefloor again after all the recent restrictions. 

Kyrenia harbour and the village of Karaman.

 On our third day of our visit we took an early morning stroll around Kyrenia harbour, the old town was just waking up as the shop keepers were cleaning their stores for another day of trading. 

We then drove up into the Kyrenia mountains which rise to over a 1000 metres overlooking the city. We made a return visit to the tiny village of Karaman, where we stopped off for a drink and a sandwich. 

Lapta coastal walk and Bellapais monastery.

 On our second day we headed along the coast to the Lapta coastal walk. The path hugs the coastline and crosses several bridges. The path has been kept in good condition and there are some great views of the Kyrenia mountains.

We then drove up to the Bellapais monastery that sits high above Kyrenia,  we walked around the old ruins of the 13th century monastery and took in the panoramic views of the coastline below. 

We then stopped off for lunch at the Huzur Agac, where we enjoyed a cold assortment of bread, dips, cheese and olives. We then wandered around the narrow streets of this tiny village and watched the dark clouds come tumbling over the Crest of the mountain. 

In the evening we returned to the village of Bellapais to visit the Bella moon restaurant,  we enjoyed a fairly decent meal, although the staff were very  friendly.

A trip to Northern Cyprus .

 We left Pissouri on a clear, bright Sunday morning  and drove towards the Capital city of Nicosia. We then joined a fairly long queue at the border checkpoint to cross over in to the Turkish held side of the island. 

We arrived at our base at the Pia bella hotel in Kyrenia,  we unpacked and walked down to the harbour for a well deserved drink.

Mandy did a spot of shopping in the town center.

In the evening we made our way over to Azra Claire's Asian restaurant where we enjoyed an absolutely superb meal.

A couple of Birthdays roll around.

 We joined Ursi and Ron down at the Two friends taverna to help Ursi celebrate her birthday. Great food and plenty of laughs made for a lovely evening.

Rob celebrated yet another birthday on the weekend. The Day started with a trip to Omodos, a beautiful village in the foothills of the Troodos. We wandered around the narrow streets before stopping for coffee and cake.

In the evening we drove over to Paphos and enjoyed a lovely meal with friends at the Naamaste Indian restaurant. 

A Sunday Morning walk along Limassol seafront.

 On another beautiful Sunday morning, we popped over to the City of Limassol for a stroll along the waterfront. The first thing we noticed was the change in the City's waterfront skyline. There are some huge buildings going up, the three apartment blocks are called "Trilogy".

We continued walking along the sands and looking out to sea we could see at least seven huge Cruise ships at berth.

This is a lovely, quiet, relaxing walk, there is so much to see that you do not realise how far you walk.

Full Reservoirs, A Paphos walk and Hawks

On a fine Winter's day we headed over to the Paphos waterfront for a beautiful walk along the coast. The large hotels along the coast were just waking up with numerous workers beavering away to make them spick and span before the new season begins.

One of the benefits of all the rains that we have  had over the Winter Months is that all the reservoirs are full, some are even overflowing, just like at the local Asprokremmos reservoir.
