Brummies Fly in

Mandy’s family members, Roy, Janet, Dawn and Mark flew from Birmingham (where else  ?)  to Cyprus for a holiday.

We all trooped down to the 1911 club for a darts night, a good night ended with the eventual winners being  Sylvia and Rob.

The following day the Brummie crew held a BBQ on their terrace. Dawn made a wonderful roulade, sadly one of our guests comments on the roulade sent the

gang  into fits of laughter, regular readers of this blog will probably know who the culprit was.

Greyhound Racing

A very good crowd turned out at the 1911 club for a night of Greyhound Racing (video-style.) The overall winner on the night was Scuba Steve who took the honours when the Greyhound "Ma's Landing" won him  a bundle of Funny money on the final race, of course he celebrated like a 3 year old who'd just had his first Farley's Rusk.

Judy and Paul hosted a BBQ

Judy and Paul hosted a BBQ as part of a double birthday celebration. An 8 hour power cut ended just in time as the party guests arrived. A big Thanks  to Judy and Paul for a lovely afternoon.

Party In the Park (Episkopi)

Party in the Park

On  a glorious Summer's evening, along with a coach load of Pissouri residents  we made our way down to Happy Valley in Episkopi for "Party in the Park".

There was a great  selection of  picnic food and plenty of cold beverages to make the party go with a swing.

Live music was provided by The Rockhoppers, Hitched and No off switch.

The singalong on the coach home was highly entertaining, big thanks to Tracy for leading the band.

Ben flies into Wales

Ben flies into  the UK from Australia to visit Lisa and to tour Wales.  After a visit to the old home town of Cardiff the couple headed to West Wales then up to Barmouth  before exploring North Wales.

 

They then headed up to the summit of Snowdon and took some great photo's.

The 1911 club in Pissouri was the venue for a darts competition, a good crowd turned up and there was plenty of good natured banter.

 A quick mention of an upcoming event that is taking place on Saturday 4th June.


 Party in the Park is being held at Happy Valley in Episkopi.


Hopefully This Blog will bring you a first hand report on this event.

On Sunday we wandered down to the Village of Mandria and had lunch at the Klimataria tavern which is well known for its BBQ Souvla.


We then moved down to the Mandia beach bar for a couple of sundowners and met  the owners new pet goat.

To Celebrate Lisa's Birthday, family and friends met in Pissouri square.

Somebody posted on A social network site that one of the Guests was going to "Splash the Cash", sadly this rumour turned out to be false.

   

With the Cypriot weather still unpredictable in the middle of May we made our way down to a BBQ at Paul's house. The afternoon started of with a cold wind and a light shower, but then clouds parted and the sun came out and the kids were soon in the pool.

Dave Sykes who is attempting an epic solo, record breaking microlight journey from York, England to Sydney, Australia, flew into Paphos  for repairs to his aircraft before continuing onwards to Egypt. 

Pissouri Hike

With the temps rising on the Island of Cyprus, Rob and Steve took the opportunity  to hike The Pissouri loop. Starting off on the South end of the village, they followed the contours of the hills as they meandered down towards Pissouri Bay.

 

There is plenty of wildlife to be seen at this time of year, but a careful eye has to be kept out for the danger of snakes.

  

Our friends, Simon and Karen, flew into Cyprus to spend some time in Pissouri. First point of order was a rooftop barbeque on their terrace that overlooks Pissouri Bay.
