Once again we awoke to a cold morning, we hopped on a bus and went into Cardiff city centre. We did a little shopping, stopped off for a coffee and a mice pie and mingled with the Christmas shoppers.
We had lunch at a small bistro in one of the City's arcades where they served homemade tomato and basil soup in old saucepans.
Lisa and Andrew invited us around to their house for a pre Christmas family dinner. We were joined by Pat, Cheryl, Rory, Shannon, Lee and Sarah along with the Cool kids, Cari and Jude.
Andrew and Lisa cooked up a superb Lamb dinner served with all the trimmings and a selection of desserts.
The cool kids were on tremendous form and especially loved the "Pie face" game and the Secret Santa.
Another cold, blustery day in the Welsh capital and we paid a visit to Ma Flav who warmed us up with hot tea and bacon sandwiches.
In the evening we met up with Lisa, Andrew and scousey Jo and made our way over to the Lansdowne pub for drinks and a meal. We then headed over to The Tramshed music venue in Grangetown to watch The Big Mac wholly soul band who put on a terrific show and really had the crowd jumping.
On a bitterly cold morning we drove North of Cardiff to Santa's grotto in Radyr. We met up with Sarah and Lee as well as the "Cool Kids", Cari and Jude.
Cari and Jude were so excited as we waited for Santa's magical train that transported us around the Kingdom. The first stop was a Mexican grotto followed by an Indian grotto.
We then had the honour of meeting the man himself, Santa, who handed out the gifts to two very excited kids. We then made our way to the cafe to warm up on coffee.
In the evening we returned to Lee and Sarah's house, played a game of "Smelly Wellies" and enjoyed a very good Indian meal.
We woke up on our first day in the UK to heavy downpours of rain. After breakfast we collected our hire care and made our way over to Cardiff. Driving conditions on the M4 were bleak with huge lorries driving at dangerously high speed in poor visibility. Safely arriving in the Welsh capital, we stocked up on supplies before meeting up with Pat and Lisa.
In the evening we popped over to The Birchgrove pub, which was nicely decorated for the festive season, before returning to our Air B&B for a tasty stir fry.
On a wet and gloomy day in Cyprus we packed our bags for our annual holiday. We made our way to Paphos airport for our flight to Bristol (UK.)
The Easyjet flight was comfortable and at four hours 20 minutes, we landed in Bristol some 30 minutes early. The first thing that we noticed was the drop in temperature, as soon as we left the aircraft's cabin, the cold wind made us shiver. We spent the night at a local airport hotel where we enjoyed a couple of drinks and dinner.
The Hillview restaurant in Pissouri was the venue for the Christmas quiz. After a superb dinner, our team, "End of an Era" came a respectable fourth place. But the main reason was to have an evening full of laughs and on that score, it was a Great evening.
The Following Sunday we were invited around to Sheena and Bryan's for a "early Christmas dinner" due to the fact that we will all be apart over Christmas. Bryan Cooked a Lamb dinner and with Sheena in charge of the kitchen, everyone enjoyed a superb dinner.
The festive party season continued when the "Pissouri slimmers group" met at the O'Vraka restaurant in Pissouri square. The ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch and had plenty of laughs.
On a beautiful December day, we drove over to the Marina in Limassol with our friends, Sheena and Bryan. We enjoyed a very good lunch before strolling around the marina admiring all the superb yachts and cruisers. The Marina looked beautifully decorated for the forthcoming Festive season.
The first Christmas party of the year took place at the Hillview restaurant. The ladies of the "Pissouri Knit and natter" group enjoyed their night out and a wonderful meal.
Taking advantage of the glorious Winter weather we decided to take a break for a couple of days in the nearby town of Paphos. Our base for our short break was the Hotel Aquamare which is situated on the coast at the eastern side of the town.
On our first night we strolled up to bar area of town but were surprised to see how quiet it was. We then headed over to the Xiang Gong Chinese restaurant were we enjoyed a superb meal. The following morning we took a stroll down to the beachfront where the temperatures hit a balmy 27 degrees. We stopped of for a quick dip in the sea before spending a relaxing day by the pool.
In the evening we made our way over to the Colosseum restaurant for dinner and to watch Dean Jones perform his highly entertaining "Tom Jones " tribute show.
