Wedding anniversary and Kolios winery

 On Tuesday we celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary by taking a trip out to one of our favourite local restaurants at Kyrenia beach.

On a beautiful evening next to the sea we enjoyed a lovely meal at the sun dipped behind the hills of nearby Pissouri. 

                          

Then on Saturday we drove up to Kolios winery which sits just North of Paphos. 

We started off with a wine tasting,  then we had a lovely meze accompanied by a very nice glass of wine...or two.

A Greek Cypriot Wedding and a Celebration dinner

We were invited to the reception party of the wedding between Achilleas and Chryso. The reception took place on the local football pitch in Pissouri. 

The event accommodated for hundreds of guests and the venue looked spectacular with lights strung above the tables, a live band and more than enough food and drink.

As is traditional in a Cypriot wedding  all the guests lined up to be greeted by the happy couple and their parents.

Then the party started with an amazing light show, fireworks  and plenty of Greek dancing. 

We were also invited to the birthday and wedding celebration of Denise and Dominico at the Ampeli  restaurant in Pissouri. Speeches we given in English and Italian and then the guests danced away the night. 

As ever, the buffet that was prepared was by the Ampeli staff was superb. 

Simply Red tribute and The Cool Kids in DisneyParis

The Simply Red tribute band " Fairground" performed a superb set at the Pissouri amphitheatre. A good crowd turned out to see this polished act play Live.

The Cool Kids made their way over from the UK to Paris Disneyland. The kids were very excited to meet all the famous characters and go on the park's numerous rides and watch the Famous parade.

Greece with the Flavs

 Lisa and Andrew left South Wales for a short trip to Greece. First stop was the capital of Athens where they soon noticed the increase in temperatures. 

After a few days in Athens they then boarded a ferry and headed to the island of Naxos.

Paddy's 80th, Lucy's wedding and Robin's funeral

 This past Friday evening, The Bunch of Grapes restaurant in Pissouri village was the venue for a celebration meal for our friend, Paddy's, 80th birthday. Our old friend was in great form regaling us with stories from his sea going days.

News reaches us from the UK that Rob's Goddaughter, Lucy, got married this past weekend.  Lucy looked beautiful in her wedding dress and we wish the happy couple a long, happy  and healthy marriage. 

A Sad day this week when we attended the funeral of an old friend, Robin.

 A lovely service was held at the new cemetery and his friends and neighbours them met at the Hillview restaurant to raise a glass to his memory.

Leaving Neighbours, Jane and Arthur and Pen Y Fan

 Jane and Arthur who have been our friends and neighbours for a number of years have decided to leave Pissouri and move to another village in Cyprus. On Sunday they invited us around to their house for a final BBQ. We wish them well on their new life.

On Friday evening Jane and Arthur invited a few friends to the Pissouriana hotel for a few "Bon Voyage" drinks.  We then popped down to a very busy village square to watch the antics of the weekly "Cyprus Night".

Back in Wales, Lee took the Cool kids up to climb Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. There was no stopping Jude as he took off up the mountain like a rocket.
