Pam's 60 th Birday at the 1911 club


Pam’s 60th Birthday Party was held at the 1911 residents club, over 50 guests enjoyed one of Arthur's special dinners of chicken curry and Faggots. The musical entertainment was provided by Jo King who soon had the guests on the dance floor and belting out a few karaoke tunes.

Jan's Birthday 2008

To Celebrate Jan's birthday, her friends held a surprise birthday party at Sheena and Brian's house. The birthday girl was surprised to see her friends gathered on the porch and after a champagne toast, the guests were treated to a dinner of one of Arthur's famous curries.

Lee's Boxing bout

News reaches us from Cardiff, UK, that Lee has won his second amateur boxing bout. Lee admitted that he started the fight slowly and was caught off guard with a punch that opened up a nasty cut on his nose. Lee managed to regain his composure and stopped his opponent at the end of the second round.

Our 4 th Wedding Anniversary









To mark Our fourth wedding anniversary we went to the Olympus palace restaurant in Pissouri. Steve and Mary came along to help us celebrate,

Steve's brother, Colin, his wife Moria and son, Liam also came along to enjoy the wonderful food and festive atmosphere.

At the end of the evening we were invited by the owner to indulge in some Greek dancing, not a pretty sight !

Austrian Orchestra in Pissouri


Over 40 musicians of the Austrian orchestra, WK LAUFEN GMUNDEN ENGELHOF performed at the Pissouri amphitheatre. The young and impressive orchestra music played a variety of music from Bach to Gilbert O’Sullivan.

President in Plataniskia











Intending to have a quiet meal with friends we drove up
to The Plataniskia tavern which is situated in a small hamlet a couple of miles North of Pissouri. As we drove into the small village we were surprised to see hundreds of people gathered, a number of Police and three large cars with blacked out windows. We were told that the President of Cyprus was there to open a new museum telling the history of printing in Cyprus

New village football pitch


New Village football pitch. The British Army based in Cyprus have upgraded the village football pitch, they have levelled the area, laid a drainage system and installed under ground irrigation.

Robin and Diane's Golden Wediing

Robin and Diane invited us to a party in their house to celebrate their Golden wedding anniversary.

The Party was held in their garden in Pissouri, a superbly cook BBQ and live music helped family, friends and neighbours celebrate 50 years of marriage.





As a surprise gift, friends and neighbours chipped in to give them a bronze garden statue of a couple embracing. It was a wonderful party for a very special couple.


Abba Dabbadoo in Pissouri









The Pissouri amphitheatre with its dramatic coastline views was the setting for the Abba tribute band, Abbadabbadoo.

On a warm and windy evening over 600 people were entertained with the hits of the former Swedish pop band. The popular tunes soon had the dance floor full of people dancing the night away.

Adam's 16 th Birthday











Wendy & Jason invited us to a BBQ to celebrate their son, Adam's 16th birthday. Jason cooked a superb BBQ and there was almost a riot when the black pudding hit the grill.

An evening on the waves in Paphos














After several days of sweltering heat in Cyprus we decided to cool off by joining 40 other residents of Pissouri by joining the "Wavedancer" evening cruise. The cool sea breeze was a welcome change and the cruise provided good food and live entertainment.

Cyprus night at the Vineleaf

Returning to Cyprus from the Petrol strikes of the UK, we were met with the News that we now have our water cut off two days a week in Pissouri, so we used the old rule of,  if you can't drink water drink beer ! 

On a very warm evening, we went down to the Vineleaf taverna in Pissouri Bay to watch the weekly Cyprus night.


After enjoying a tasty buffet, the crowd were entertained by traditional Cypriot dancers and a belly dancer.












The following evening we were invited to Sheena and Brian's BBQ which was a birthday celebration for thir son, Jamie.

The "Boss" in Cardiff










On a warm Summers evening we walked to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium where we joined the 60,000 crowd to watch one of Rock and Roll's all time great bands. Bruce Springsteen and the E street band. For three hours the jubilant crowd were entertained with Bruce pulling out all the stops to provide a top notch show.

A visit to Cardiff.

South Wales was our next destination and the Welsh Capital city of Cardiff, we took a stroll around one of the City's superb gardens. Roath park is a haven for birdlife and we were lucky enough to find new born signets swimming with thier Mother.


In the Evening we met up family and friends at The Quarry pub, we had a few drinks, a wonderful meal and a lot of Laughs.


A visit to Birmingham

We flew from Paphos to Cardiff for a week's visit to the UK. We picked up a hire car from the airport and headed to the Midlands town of Redditch.




Our first stop was to visit Mandy's Mother and then brother Roy. 

Roy and his wife Janet were celebrating thier 41st wedding anniversary.




Mandy had organised a family gathering at a local pub and various members of the family turned up, some had not seen each other for over twenty Years so there was plenty of catching up to be done.
