Day Three in Lapta
Not a great start to the day when we noticed that we had a puncture just after we left the hotel, so we pulled over to change the tyre.....such fun in 32 degrees and full sun. We made our way to a local tyre shop and got the tyre fixed at a bargain of 50 Turkish lire/ 3 euros.
We drove on to Kyrenia and did a bit of shopping before heading to the Hanimeller restaurant. This place is definitely styled in a quirky manner, but the food and the views of the coast are excellent.
After talking to the helpful waiter, we decided to order the Turkish breakfast meze, this consisted of numerous sweet and savoury dishes accompanied by some lovely varieties of bread.
We then took the short walk down to the beach and enjoyed swimming in the beautiful sea.
In the evening we took the short walk over to the Veni Vici restaurant for our evening meal which we both enjoyed, even though the temperatures are beginning to get uncomfortable. We returned to the Manolya for a drink on the terrace and enjoyed the Cool, see breeze.

Day Two in Lapta
We started our day off with an early morning swim, firstly in the pool and then a refreshing dip in the sea. We showered and enjoyed breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea.
A Summer's break in Northern Cyprus.
We decided to have a short break in Northern Cyprus, we set off early on Sunday morning and reached the border checkpoint by 9.45.
We were told at the border that their printers had broken down, so each person had to go into the border hut and take a screenshot of their details after completing their car insurance form, which obviously slowed down the whole process of crossing the border.
From the border we drove onto the town of Kyrenia and stopped off for a well earned breakfast and to exchange some money, at the time of writing the Euro is worth just over 17 Turkish lira.
We the drove on along the coast to the area of Lapta where we checked into the Manolya hotel, we unpacked and hit the pool.
In the evening we strolled over to the Blue Song restaurant which sits on the coast overlooking the Mediterranean sea. We enjoyed a lovely meal and a fabulous sunset.

The Artemis restaurant and The Little Eagles
During midweek we popped down to the Artemis restaurant in Pissouri bay, the first thing you notice as you enter the restaurant is the superb display of grapes hanging above you from the vines.
We enjoyed a delicious meal of grilled sole and had a good chat without friend, Anna, who is the restaurant manager.
