We decided to have a short break in Northern Cyprus, we set off early on Sunday morning and reached the border checkpoint by 9.45.
We were told at the border that their printers had broken down, so each person had to go into the border hut and take a screenshot of their details after completing their car insurance form, which obviously slowed down the whole process of crossing the border.
From the border we drove onto the town of Kyrenia and stopped off for a well earned breakfast and to exchange some money, at the time of writing the Euro is worth just over 17 Turkish lira.
We the drove on along the coast to the area of Lapta where we checked into the Manolya hotel, we unpacked and hit the pool.
In the evening we strolled over to the Blue Song restaurant which sits on the coast overlooking the Mediterranean sea. We enjoyed a lovely meal and a fabulous sunset.
