Today we stepped into the heart of Sardinian tradition with our visit to The Cavalcata Sarda — a dazzling celebration of culture, color, and community.
On a radiant Sunday in May, the city of Sassari transformed into a living tapestry of pageantry, with hundreds of horses proudly parading through the streets, their riders dressed in vibrant, hand-embroidered costumes representing towns from across the island.
The parade also included marching bands, numerous dancing characters, dozens of horseback riders and traditional folk groups.
The streets buzzed with laughter and music as people gathered at the many beer and food stalls, savoring local delicacies, raising glasses, and basking in the warmth of community and culture. A perfect end to a day of colour, pride, and Sardinian joy.
