Family visit at Coral Bay

We made our way up to Coral bay to Spend a little time with some of Mandy's family. 

Michelle, Tim, Charlie and Jack are on a 2 week holiday from the  UK. We spent a lovely afternoon by the pool catching  up with the Family News.

Vegas comes to Pissouri and 40,000 Hits

Pissouri gears itself to takes over from Las Vegas as the Showbiz capital of the World as two Live shows are announced. First up is "The Rat Pack" show paying homage to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

Then on Thursday 27 September the "Legends of Rock" storms into the Village to Shake up this Part of Cyprus.

Tribute acts include Elton John, Dire Straits, The Eagles and a few surprise guests.

Our little site crashed through the 40,000 visitor mark with people from 143 different countries taking a peek.

Cyprus Night and Grill Corner

After a number of weeks of hot & humid weather we decided to take a trip down to the village square to see the weekly "Cyprus night". Our first stop, along with Steve and Mary, was at Grill Corner where Stella and Hero gave us a warm welcome and served up a delicious BBQ. 

We then moved onto the Flamingo bar to watch the Cyprus night Dancing and entertainment.

Giraffe Souvla

The Giraffe bar was the venue for a Sunday afternoon of Souvla and a certain little girl enjoyed a well deserved ice cream

Tracie and Alan's reception

Tracie and Alan's Special day continued when they hosted a reception at The Hillview restaurant in Pissouri.

A superb buffet was served, the bridesmaids were entertained by a magician and a chocolate fountain while the guests danced the night away to Tracy's Music.

 A big thank you and Best wishes to Tracie and Alan.

Tracie and Alan's Wedding vows

Tracie and Alan renewed their wedding vows in a beach side service at Agios Georgios. As the waves crashed and the sunset, family and friends gathered to  witness the happy couple.

Tracie looked stunning in a Grecian styled white wedding dress adorned with crystals and Alan looked resplendent in his Kilt.

The Ladies of Pissouri and  a few visitors from the UK met up in the village square to help Tracie celebrate her hen night.

There were a few raised eyebrows from the holidaymakers enjoying Cyprus night, thankfully no arrests were made.

As the Mercury hits 35 in Pissouri (42 in Nicosia) we headed to Pissouri beach to cool off in the Med.

On Saturday night we popped over to the "Two Friends" taverna and ordered the Meze and what a feed it was, beautifully prepared with with a array of very tasty dishes, infact we had to tell them to stop bringing food.

Phil's 50th and Farewell Party

The 1911 club was the venue for Phil's 50th birthday celebration, it was also the chance for all their friends to say goobye to Phil and Linda who will shortly begin a  new life in the USA.

Phil and Linda have been very active on the committee  of the PRA club and we'd all like to thank them for all their work

Venezuala Indepencence day in Pissouri

We took a trip over to Pissouri ampitheartre where they were holding a musical evening to celebrate the 201st year of independence of Venezuela.

Under a full moon, the Venezualan musicians played some foot tapping tunes.

Broadband and Birthday in the Square

The ongoing saga of trying to get broadband connected. Workmen turned up at 8.00am and dug up the drive and installed cable and junction boxes.

 Now its up to the national phone company to connect us online, its only been 8 weeks, so we will see what happens next.

On Saturday day evening we made our way down to the Vraka tavern where Steve was celebrating his birthday and was kind enough to invite us.

Don't Panic Mr Mannering

Well after my last post about clearing the scrub land, it was a bit of a surprise to look out of the window this evening and see the hill opposite ablaze.

A few of the local residents tried in vain to get the flames under control. The local fire brigade arrived after 30 minutes and soon got contol of the fire before it reached nearby properties.

Clearing the Scrub and a visit to The Giraffe

With the ever present worry of bush fires breaking out, it was good to see the scrub land next our house being cleared by a JCB.

As the temps climb into the 30's we decide to cool  off by visiting the new sport/music bar that has opened in the village. "The Giraffe" pub is being run by a couple of British guys and we wish then all the best in their new venture.
