A visit to the Hideaway in Northern Cyprus

We decided to spend a long weekend in the North of the Island, we made the two hour drive from Pissouri to the coastal town of Kyrenia. Our base for our visit was the Hideaway hotel which is set back from the town in the foothills of the Pentadaktylos mountain range.

The Hideaway is a lovely small hotel with a beautiful sun/pool terrace overlooking the sea and the dramatic mountain range and the staff are excellent.

On the first morning we made our way down the picturesque harbour for a stroll and a bit of people watching.

In the evening we made our way to the "Number 14" restaurant which is tucked away in the back streets of Kyrenia, you enter from the street through a nondescript gate and enter into a lovely courtyard. The restaurant is run by a British family with three generations of the family working there.

The following morning we spent relaxing by the hotel pool before driving up into the mountains to the village of Karaman, the drive up is a little tight but well worth it.
We parked up in the tiny village square walked over to The Levant restaurant. This delightful, small, quaint restaurant is run by a Canadian couple and the food they serve is superb and the mountain views are stunning.
