Today we decided to catch a local bus to the fishing village of San Andres which was only a twenty minute drive away.
We got off the bus and took the short walk North of the village to the beach, Playa de las Teresitas. As we walked along the golden sands we both remarked how much this area reminded us of the Caribbean.
We walked the length of the beach and the along the breakwater where there were dramatic views of the Cliffs to the North.
As we walked back along the beach we could see in the distance the small village of San Andres perched on the hillside with the houses looking like small, colourful sugar cubes.
When we reached the village we decided to look for somewhere for lunch, we picked a small restaurant called El Peton, this turned out to be a great decision because we enjoyed a superb meal of tuna salad, canarian potatoes and local fishcakes.
In the evening we took a walk to Parque GarcĂa Sanabria, a lovely park in the City centre with statues, fountains and an array of beautiful plants.
We then walked back through the pedestrian area stopping off for a few glasses of wine.
